Beginning April 19, officials with the Orangeburg County School District say they will be transitioning back to a five day in-person learning week for students. Students still have the option to finish the rest of the semester through Orangeburg Online if they choose.
Richland School District Two and Allen University are partnering together to encourage STEM students in the Midlands. Thursday afternoon, Allen and District Two announced they have reached a memorandum of understanding. Based on the agreement, Allen will provide the district with speakers for special programs at Richland Two high schools, a “real science” summer lab experience, and a master class in the summer taught by Allen University faculty.

Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford has released the name of an individual whose body was discovered on Ridgewood Avenue Wednesday. The coroner identified the man as 71-year-old Johnny L. Thompson, of Blythewood.
