Mariners Put USC’s Smoak On Disabled List
Sunday the Seattle Mariners put former Gamecock slugger Justin Smoak on the 15-day disabled list with an oblique injury.

USC Women’s Golf Still 23rd At NCAAs
The South Carolina women’s golf team shot a 17-over 305 on Wednesday in the second round of the NCAA Championship at the University of Georgia Golf Course, but team standings were incomplete at the end of the day as two lightning delays kept teams from finishing their rounds.
Ciuffo Class AAAA Player of the Year
Gamecock signee Nick Ciuffo earned AAAA state player of the year honors from the South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association on Tuesday. The senior Lexington High School catcher also tweeted that he has accepted an invitation to attend next month’s MLB Draft in New York.
USC’s NeSmith SEC Co-Freshman Golfer Of Year
South Carolina freshman Matt NeSmith has been named the Co-SEC Men’s Golf Freshman of the Year, and senior Dykes Harbin has earned Second-Team All-SEC honors as selected by the league’s 14 coaches, the conference office announced Tuesday.
USC Baseball Game Scheduled for 4pm Saturday
The South Carolina-Albany baseball game is set for a single game scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday at Carolina Stadium.
A doubleheader has been scheduled for Sunday beginning at Noon. Both games will be nine innings.

South Carolina F Geathers has knee scoped
Gamecocks coach Frank Martin said Tuesday that Geathers had undergone the procedure because the injury was not healing as expected. Geathers had hurt himself in July and was expected to need at least six months to recover.
