There was a familiar face on Good Morning America earlier today on ABC Columbia.
“To ride down Main Street and interact with our fans and hear you screaming from the bottom of your heart how much you love us, it really resonates with me,” said Coach Dawn Staley.
During the South Carolina Gamecocks 2022 national championship parade, Congressman Jim Clyburn announced that the team is invited to the White House.
In just a few minutes, the City of Columbia will celebrate the South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball national championship. The parade begins at 6 p.m., but fans are out early, ready to celebrate the accomplishments of their beloved Gamecocks.
“I’m not even worried about this game. We’re winning the national championship,” said USC student Corey Fiore.
For the second time in three seasons, the United States Basketball Writers Association named Dawn Staley Coach of the Year. This comes as the South Carolina Gamecocks are in Minneapolis for the Final Four, where they take on Louisville at 7 p.m. Friday. The ABC Columbia Sports team is in Minneapolis to bring you coverage of the Gamecocks push for another national championship.
