A troubling trend is emerging as the state moves through the peak of this year’s Flu season.
Flu activity is continuing to climb across the U.S. as hospitalizations rise, according to newly released data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The flu is actually climbing in rapidly across South Carolina with health officials reporting doctor visits for flu like illness now well above the state’s normal baseline, according to the Department of Public Health.

This year, DHEC is reporting that cases are particularly high here in the Palmetto State.
Along with the flu, Doctor Pamela Bailey, with Prisma Health, says COVID, RSV, and other respiratory viral infections can spread. Bailey says with similar symptoms, it may be hard to tell respiratory illnesses apart.
