Health experts are warning about a “double whammy” of COVID-19 and flu this winter. Adding to those concerns, research shows the seasonal flu vaccines don’t match one of the main strains currently circulating.
As people practiced social distancing and focused more on hand washing during the pandemic, flu cases nearly disappeared. A new study suggests that’s not the only winter bug that saw a decrease.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention says flu activity is at its lowest since they started collecting data in 2005. In the first week of February, just four people tested positive for the flu.
