Trailing 6-0 after three innings, the University of South Carolina baseball team rallied for eight consecutive runs in an 8-6 win over Winthrop Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 19) at Founders Park. South Carolina moves to 3-1 while Winthrop falls to 1-3.
South Carolina (13-12, 8-4 SEC) hosts (RV/RV) Ole Miss (18-7, 8-4 SEC) on Tuesday night at Colonial Life Arena. The meeting is the only between the two schools this SEC regular season. Tip time is set for 7 p.m. ET on the SEC Network with Tom Hart (play-by-play) and Dane Bradshaw (analyst) on the call.
For her efforts in the team’s four games over the weekend, South Carolina softball’s Cayla Drotar has been named SEC Player of the Week, the conference office announced today. Drotar posted a team-best 12 RBI at the plate and went 2-0 in the circle to help the Gamecocks sweep the Gamecock Invitational.
