“Just imagine if we could fill those 80,000 jobs. That would create billions more in economic activity, so that’s the challenge that we’re here to discuss today,” says Bob Morgan, President of the SC Chamber of Commerce.
Even with so many open positions, South Carolina’s unemployment rate is a little more than 3 percent.
More people are working in South Carolina.

The Department of Employment and Workforce says there were more than 5,000 fewer people working in South Carolina in November than October.
