More students in Lexington County are shifting to online learning this week.
“Both of my kids have been excited since early June to get going. My daughter will be in 1st grade and my son is in pre-K,” Shaw said.
Several school districts in the Midlands announced that they will be conducted learning online Thursday. The move comes after reports of severe weather expected in the area.

On Friday, Richland School District One announced a their new plan to get students back in the classroom five days a week.
Officials with Lexington School District Two say Pine Ridge Middle School will temporarily shift to a 100% virtual learning model for two weeks.
Students in the Lexington Richland 5 School District are on strike. They say they feel their concerns have fallen on deaf ears, after a student led protest last week.
Richland School District One is entering a hybrid learning model on February 1.
A few Midlands school districts have announced plans to remain virtual through the end of this month.
