The South Carolina Department of Transportation is preparing for any possible winter weather this week.
SC DOT says they will continue to prepare and monitor the weather. In parts of the state where potential impacts are expected, especially in the Upstate, transportation crews may be out spraying salt brine or salting the roadways.

In preparation of the temperature drop this weekend some local churches and places will open up warming centers this week.
While various Counties, and City leaders are opening warming shelters throughout the area, the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office is going a step further.
