Columbia Finally Got 1 Inch of Snow

Today Columbia Metro Airport (CAE) measured at least 1 inch of snow. Why is that significant? Because the last time that happened was nearly 8 years ago – February 12, 2014.  Yes, it’s been 2900 days since at least 1 inch of snow fell at CAE.  That’s the longest streak on record. Source:USGS Elgin, S.C. (WOLO)–The US Geological Survey announced Friday afternoon that a 1.94 magnitude earthquake less than 5 miles south of Elgin. It is the 16th earthquake in the Elgin area since December 27th and the second this week.   Categories: Local News, News, Richland
