Vehicle Breakdowns Expected to Surge During Holiday Weekend

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — State transportation officials say they'll delay opening new lanes on Interstate 20 east of Columbia for about a month so they can fix a 1.5-mile stretch of highway just past the constriction zone.

Officials say a Detroit-based business is recalling about 1.8 million pounds of ground beef products sold for restaurant use in four states that may be contaminated with the bacteria E. coli.
