COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) โ€” South Carolina senators have advanced bills disqualifying workers in part-time and seasonal jobs from receiving unemployment benefits.

Suspect Named in Killing of Teen in Aiken County

NEW ELLENTON, S.C. (AP) _ Aiken County deputies say they have a suspect in the killing of a teen whose body was found buried in a shallow grave over the weekend. Deputies got a murder warrant Tuesday for 24-year-old Christopher Parker. Authorities say 18-year-old Huran Dix was shot over a stolen income check.

LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) _ A Lexington chiropractor has been sentenced to nine years in prison for inappropriately touching three female patients. Prosecutor Donnie Myers said Monday a judge sentenced 52-year-old Ronald Jeffrey Shows to a year and a half in prison on each of six counts of second degree assault and battery. He also was ordered to register as a sex offender.
