President Joe Biden says Americans must commit to the unfinished work of Martin Luther King Jr., delivering jobs and justice and protecting what he calls “the sacred right to vote, a right from which all other rights flow.” Biden’s remarks Monday were among many by politicians acknowledging unmet needs for racial equality on Martin Luther King Day.
The City of Columbia’s 34th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration will be held virtually today at 4 p.m.

One non-profit is hosting an MLK Day of Service event to give free items and food to kids Monday. Captain’s Hope Inc.’s drive through event is happening through 2 p.m. on Main Street near Drayton Street.
