Richland County Councilwoman Chakisse Newton held a mask giveaway this afternoon as part of the new mask mandate set by the City of Columbia to end the spread of COVID-19. The city says they plan to schedule more free masks giveaways in the future.
All of the votes are in for Richland County, and today those results were certified. More than 194,000 ballots were cast in Richland County.
The Columbia Police Department tweeted that Douglas Vaughn was found walking along Laurel Street. Police say Vaughn was found to be uninjured, in good condition, but was still taken to a local hospital.
The Columbia Police Department says they are looking for an adult man who left a local hospital at approximately 4 a.m. Friday morning. Officials say 42-year-old Douglas Vaughn was reported missing by his family. Police say due to his medical condition, his family is concerned for his safety and well-being.

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)–Friday afternoon DHEC announced 953 new confirmed cases of COVID 19. According to the agency, of the more than 7,000 test results reported Thursday 13.2% were positive.
