South Carolina voters return to the polls Tuesday to finalize the Republican nominee for governor in a runoff election that has become a bruising grudge match between two of the state's leading politicians.
Monday afternoon, June 22, Columbia Police and City of Columbia officials updated the response to fights that took place at Saturday's Juneteenth celebration.
Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook stated, “I am frustrated and disappointed that this celebrated Juneteenth community event was disrupted by several groups of young people engaged in fights and disruptive behavior. This is not who we are as a community, and we must all share in the responsibility of ensuring that something like this never happens again.”
