CONWAY, S.C. (AP) _ A Myrtle Beach man will spend 15 years in prison in the killing of a man whose body was found near an Horry County park last New Year's Eve. Court records show 19-year-old Kendrix Corbitt pleaded guilty Thursday to voluntary manslaughter.

Man Arrested 5 Times While Awaiting Murder Trial

AIKEN, S.C. (AP) _ Prosecutors say they will ask a judge to revoke bond for a man arrested five separate times since he was charged with murder in an Aiken County shooting two years ago. The Aiken Standard reports (http://bit.ly/rZSPa5) that 22-year-old Freddie Simpkins' latest arrest came Tuesday on a second-degree burglary charge and he remained in jail on a $25,000 bond.

Hundreds turn out in Charleston for housing help

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — In a sign of the ongoing problems in the economy, hundreds of people turned out in Charleston to get on a waiting list for federal housing assistance that already has hundreds of names.
