Gallman Named to Doak Walker Watch List

Clemson sophomore running back Wayne Gallman has been named to the Doak Walker Award Watch List for 2015. The Doak Walker Award is presented each year to the top running back in college football. The award will be presented December 10 at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show in Atlanta, GA.

Wilds On Doak Walker Award Watch List

University of South Carolina senior Brandon Wilds is among the candidates listed for the 2015 Doak Walker Award, which is presented annually to the nation’s top college running back by the PwC SMU Athletic Forum.

Alexander Makes Thorpe Watch List

Clemson sophomore cornerback Mackensie Alexander has been named to the Jim Thorpe Award Watch list for 2015. The award, which dates to 1986, is presented each year to the top defensive back in the nation.

Flag News Prompts NCAA To Lift SC Ban

The NCAA wasted no time Thursday reacting to the news that South Carolina will remove the Confederate flag from the state house grounds. Minutes after Gov. Nikki Haley signed the bill, the NCAA announced it would lift its ban that prevented sites in South Carolina to host pre-determined postseason championships.

Battle First NFL Supplemental Pick Since 2012

The St. Louis Rams selected offensive lineman Isaiah Battle in the fifth round of the NFL supplemental draft. The Rams announced Thursday that they've selected the former Clemson player. Battle played in 27 games and started 15 during three seasons with the Tigers.

Tiger Tight End Leggett Makes Watch List

Clemson tight end Jordan Leggett is one of seven tight ends on the John Mackey Award Watch List announced on Wednesday. The award goes to the top tight end in college football. Clemson’s Dwayne Allen won the honor at the conclusion of the 2011 season. He is now in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts.

Clemson Center Makes Watch List

Clemson center Ryan Norton was named to the Rimington Award Watch List on Wednesday. The Clemson graduate from Simpsonville, S.C. and Mauldin High School is one of seven ACC players on the list.

Monte Lee Finalizes Staff at Clemson

Head coach Monte Lee added four assistants to his staff, announced Tuesday. Lee, who was named head coach on June 18, retained Bradley LeCroy as recruiting coordinator. Lee also named Andrew See as pitching coach, Greg Starbuck as volunteer assistant and retained Brad Owens as director of baseball operations.

On Friday, the USC Alumni defeated the Lexington County Blowfish, 7-4 in the annual GameFish Cup. The game raised money for the against VGKC-LE, a disease that affects the brain and causes random seizures.

University of South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley announced today the hiring of Katie Fowler as her program’s sports performance coach. Fowler has worked with college student-athletes for the last four years in addition to her two years in the private sector.

South Carolina rising sophomore Keenan Huskey carded a final-round 73 (+3) on Wednesday at Pinehurst No. 2 to finish the stroke play portion of the North and South Amateur in a tie for fifth.

Clemson rising junior Austin Langdale continued his outstanding summer with a second-place finish at the 2015 Rice Planters Amateur at Snee Farm Golf Club in Mount Pleasant, S.C. Earlier this summer Langdale finished fifth at the Palmetto Amateur.

Two Tigers Earn National Track Crowns

Natoya Goule and Cordell Lamb won major postseason events Saturday for Clemson track & field. Goule took home her third straight Jamaican national championship in the women’s 800, while Lamb earned a gold medal in the men’s 400 at the USA Junior Championships.

Senior offensive tackle Isaiah Battle will enter the NFL Supplemental Draft. Head Coach Dabo Swinney made the announcement on Thursday.
