Law enforcement agencies across the state are encouraging South Carolinians to participate in Drug Take Back Day this weekend. It’s a chance for residents to safely get rid of their unwanted and unused medications to help prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.

Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. In the Midlands, you can bring your unused or expired medications to several locations.
This past Saturday, law enforcement agencies across the state held Drug Take Back Day, and several Midlands agencies say it was a successful day.
Tomorrow is National Drug Take Back Day. This afternoon, Attorney General Alan Wilson and Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott held a news conference encouraging South Carolinians to go by one of several drop off sites Saturday to drop off unused prescription medications.
The Lexington Police Department and the Lexington/Richland Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council (LRADAC) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will be working together to take back prescription drugs.
