Thursday, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control announced Dr. Brannon Traxler will serve as the agency’s new director of public health. Dr. Traxler had been serving as interim director of public health for the agency. Prior to this interim role, Dr. Traxler served as DHEC’s chief medical officer.
DHEC says that although the state will not be using the Johnson & Johnson vaccine until the FDA and CDC finish investigating the six reported blood clots, there is still no shortage of vaccine supply.
