SLED releases 2020 preliminary crime statistics, shows rise in violent crime
Violent crime is rising at an alarming rate in South Carolina. This afternoon, SLED released its preliminary crime statistics report for 2020.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has opened an investigation into a 19-year-old’s 2015 death based on information gathered during the course of the Murdaugh murder case.
On Wednesday afternoon, SLED announced that they set up a tip line for information about the double murder of Maggie and Paul Murdaugh. Maggie was Paul’s mother and the wife of prominent Lowcountry attorney Alex Murdaugh.
Authorities say a mother and son from a prominent South Carolina legal family have been shot and killed on their family’s land. Deputies say they found the two victims dead on the family’s property near Islandton on Monday night.
