Southern Conference postpones fall sports including football

Spartanburg, S.C. (WOLO)--Three more South Carolina schools are canceling their upcoming football seasons. Thursday the Southern Conference announced it will postpone all fall sports including football. The Citadel, Furman, and Wofford are all members of the southern conference.

Several sources have indicated to ESPN that Big Ten presidents, following a meeting on Saturday, are ready to pull the plug on its fall sports season, and they wanted to gauge if commissioners and university presidents and chancellors from the other Power 5 conference.

SAC Votes to Postpone Fall Sports Until the Spring

In addition, as a result of the NCAA Board of Governors' directives issued on August 5, the SAC Presidents Council voted to temporarily suspend all athletically-related activities, including practices, weight training, and voluntary workouts for all sports until September 1.
