The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested a man in connection with a shooting that left 23-year-old Tyvon Dickey dead. Deputies say the shooting took place on October 16 at a motel in the 10000 block of Lynches River Road.

According to the South Carolina State Election Commission, 1,013,000 South Carolinians have returned their absentee ballots for the 2020 election so far. This more than doubles the previous record for absentee voting when 503,000 absentee votes were cast in the 2016 General Election.

On Wednesday, the Trump administration announced that the United States Department of Agriculture is investing $9.5 million for rural community facilities in South Carolina.
