City of Columbia officials warn drivers to be aware and avoid flood prone streets during heavy downpours
Yellowstone will welcome back visitors this week for the first time since closing due to record breaking floods. Officials originally closed all entrances into the park after record rainfall inundated Yellowstone, causing dangerous flooding that damaged roads and destroyed property. At one point, the Yellowstone River rose to its highest level in more than 100 years.
Unprecedented rainfall has resulted in record-setting flood levels. Other hazards, including rockslides and mud-slides, are also making it unsafe for travel.
With storms making their way across the Midlands, it is important for drivers to look out for flooding and avoid driving into standing water. City of Columbia officials urge drivers to stay away from the following streets and intersections as they are known to flood.

Due to potential severe weather, the City of Columbia is advising drivers to avoid flood prone streets today.
Some residents on Wilkes Road are calling on Columbia city officials to help fix what they claim is constant flooding on their street. The residents say they are supposed to be in a non-risk flood zone.
