A Midlands car dealership made a major donation to help in the fight against hunger. Jim Hudson Automotive Group
gave Harvest Hope Food Bank a check for $200,000.
Harvest Hope Food Bank is asking the community for donations of instant noodles during the month of May.
Today, Harvest Hope Food Bank and Senior Resources worked together to feed local seniors. The organizations gave out five pound bags of chicken as well as bags containing 12 sandwich buns, through a donation from KFC.
On Saturday, Harvest Hope Food Bank is teaming up with Northside Baptist Church for their “Food from the Heart” food drive. They will be taking donations at the church from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Harvest Hope Food Bank has a new CEO. Monday, the food bank announced Midlands banker and former Harvest Hope Board Member Erinn Rowe will take over the role. Rowe succeeds former CEO Wendy Broderick, who passed away in January.
You still have a few months to help Harvest Hope Food Bank “Spread the Love.” Throughout the month of February, the food bank has been asking for donations of peanut butter, one of the most frequently asked for items at Harvest Hope.
On Wednesday, Columbia faith leaders gathered to give updates on how much money has been donated to take on hunger in South Carolina. It’s part of the “South Carolina Million Dollar Challenge” to benefit the Souper Bowl of Caring.
On Tuesday, Harvest Hope Food Bank announced that their Chief Executive Officer, Wendy Broderick passed away.
