Spurrier admits he should have fired coaches in 2014

In an interview with ABC Columbia, former South Carolina football coach Steve Spurrier gave insight to his last two years at the helm of the Gamecock football program. Spurrier admits he should have let a few coaches go at the end of 2014, following Carolina's 7-6 season. Spurrier abruptly left the program in 2015, just six games into the season.

Gamecocks traveling Charlottesville for NCAA Championships

South Carolina men's tennis earned a bid to the NCAA Championships for the 25th time in program history and the sixth time under head coach Josh Goffi. Ranked 17th in the nation last week, the Gamecocks (17-9, 5-7 SEC) will play ETSU in first-round action at 10 a.m. on Fri., May 4, while the other Charlottesville match features host and fifth-ranked Virginia against Saint John's.

The Gamecock women's tennis team heads to the NCAA Championships for the 25th-consecutive year and hosts the First and Second Rounds at the Carolina Tennis Center in Columbia, S.C., for the fourth year in-a-row.

Fireflies shut out in Charleston

No. 14 South Carolina softball tied the school record for home runs in a season in heartbreaking 3-2 loss to No. 15 Georgia on Sunday at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field. Lauren Stewart broke up the Bulldog no-hit bid in the bottom of the fifth with a solo home run off the foul pole in left to give the Gamecocks No. 65 on the year. 

Tigers Rally For 11-7 Win Over No. 11 Georgia Tech

Justin Hawkins' two-run homer in the eighth inning tied the score and Grayson Byrd's three-run homer later in the frame gave Clemson the lead, as the Tigers overcame a 7-3 deficit in its 11-7 victory over No. 11 Georgia Tech at Russ Chandler Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Gamecocks drop seventh-straight SEC series, blanked at Missouri

The University of South Carolina baseball team was held to one hit on the night by the Missouri pitching staff and the Tigers put up eight runs in the bottom of the seventh in an 11-0 win over the Gamecocks Saturday night at Taylor Stadium.

Daley Selected by Panthers in Sixth Round of NFL Draft

University of South Carolina offensive tackle Dennis Daley was selected by the Carolina Panthers with the 212th pick in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He is the third Gamecock offensive tackle drafted since 2015, joining Corey Robinson and Brandon Shell.

Georgia Tech edges Clemson, 8-7

No. 11 Georgia Tech made the most of its six hits in its 8-7 victory over Clemson at Russ Chandler Stadium on Friday night. The Yellow Jackets, who took a 1-0 lead in the series, improved to 29-13 overall and 14-8 in the ACC. The Tigers, who outhit Georgia Tech 13-6, fell to 26-17 overall and 11-11 in ACC play.
