Coastal Beats Clemson 9-5

CONWAY, S.C. – David Parrett’s grand slam highlighted Coastal Carolina’s five-run third inning in its 9-5 victory over Clemson in front of a stadium-record crowd of 2,825 at Springs Brooks Stadium on Tuesday night. The Chanticleers improved to 14-6, while the Tigers dropped to 9-10. It was Clemson’s first game in Conway since 1994.

Gamecocks Kick Off Spring Practice

The 2015 version of South Carolina Football took to the practice fields for the first of 15 spring practices on Tuesday afternoon. Perfect weather conditions greeted the squad, as it worked out on the new practice fields, located on the west end of Gamecock Park, for the first time.

Clemson's Berger Makes Tennis Hall Of Fame

Former Clemson men’s tennis player Jay Berger will be inducted into the ITA Men’s Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame as part of its class of 2015, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced last week. The enshrinement ceremony for Berger and the five other members of the class is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, and takes place during the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships hosted by Baylor in Waco, Texas.

Clemson Looking For Backup QB

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney is looking for a few good backups. Deshaun Watson will be the starter after becoming the face of the program despite being sidelined with injuries in his freshman debut season. Behind him, though, Clemson has a little-used backup Nick Schuessler and two freshmen, Kelly Bryant and Tucker Israel, who enrolled early.

Michigan St. Edges Clemson 8-6

Blaise Salter hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning to give Michigan State the lead for good in its 8-6 win over Clemson at Fluor Field on Wednesday night. The Spartans improved to 7-7, while the Tigers dropped to 8-7. It was the first meeting between the two since 2011.

Clemson Comeback Falls Short, FSU Wins 76-73

Florida State withstood a furious rally from Clemson late in the second half and preserved a 76-73 win over the Tigers in the second round of the ACC Tournament at Greensboro Coliseum on Wednesday. Clemson cut a 20-point lead to two with 25 seconds left, but Rod Hall’s attempt to tie rolled off the rim and the Seminoles added a free throw to provide the final margin.

Proveaux Fires Clemson Record 63

Junior Cody Proveaux shot a school record tying 63 to lead the Clemson golf team to a record team round of 265 in the second round of the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate on Monday afternoon. All five Clemson golfers shot in the 60s for the second round, a first in Clemson men’s golf history.

Logan Koch belted a two-run homer and Wil Crowe, Vince Fiori and Taylor Widener combined for a five-hit shutout as fifth-ranked South Carolina defeated Miami (Ohio) 2-0 on Friday night at Carolina Stadium.

Gamecocks Fall in Series Finale to Clemson, 7-0

Brody Koerner pitched a four-hit complete game as Clemson clinched the series with a 7-0 victory over fifth-ranked South Carolina on Monday night at Carolina Stadium. The Tigers improve to 7-3 on the season while the loss drops the Gamecocks to 7-3.

Jack Wynkoop worked six-plus innings allowing just one run and Clarke Schmidt and Taylor Widener added three scoreless innings of relief as fifth-ranked South Carolina defeated Clemson 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.
