The University of South Carolina announced that they are partnering with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, the Medical University of South Carolina and Clemson University to expand saliva-based coronavirus testing to other colleges and universities throughout the state.

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced that the Medicaid Recipient Fraud division of the Attorney General’s Office recovered over $60,000 in Medicaid benefits stolen from taxpayers through Medicaid fraud committed by an individual in the Charleston County area. The individual’s name has not been released.
A Greenville County deputy died after a collision with a suspect vehicle on I-85 North Tuesday. Master Deputy Conley Jumper died from his injuries at a hospital after the incident near White Horse Road.

According to U.S. Attorney Peter M. McCoy Jr., two individuals have been charged in federal court for conspiring to steal personal protective equipment from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Charleston. Authorities say Frank Smail, Jr., 49, and Mike Pellegrini, 58, who both worked at the FLETC, have been charged in the conspiracy. Authorities say Smail also faces charges of PPE theft, obstruction of justice, and lying to federal agents.

Tuesday was the self-imposed deadline given by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to wrap up negotiations on a nearly $2 trillion pandemic relief bill. While she was scheduled to give the final decision earlier this afternoon, she is now allowing both sides more time to continue negotiations.
