Orangeburg Regional Medical Center is holding a vaccination event Wednesday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Anyone 18 and older who wants the vaccine, can get one. The vaccines will be distributed on a first come first serve basis at Calhoun County High School.

Sumter woman accused of hitting victim in the head with a glass bottle
The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office says a woman is in custody, accused of hitting a female victim in the head with a glass bottle. Deputies say 28-year-old Shaparis Jalesa Vanburen was arrested Tuesday and charged with assault and battery, third degree.
Fairfield County Coroner’s Office identifies body found in October as man reported missing in September 2019
On October 21, 2020, the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office says they were called to the Peay Ridge Community, along with the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office, where a hunter reported finding human remains. According to officials, DNA testing revealed that the body belonged to Kirk Anthony Hall, who had been reported missing from the same community on September 13, 2019.
