Hurricane Florence evacuation update
Three counties are no longer required to evacuate, but South Carolina’s emergency management team is still urging people to take caution, and prepare now.
The following are hurricane shelters available in the Midlands, according to the SCEMD website.

PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC (WOLO) – A Tennessee pet rescue drove nine hours to save animals in Hurricane Florence’s path. Big Fluffy Dog Rescue made the trip to Pawleys Island Tuesday (9/11) to pick up about 30 dogs and cats from shelters. The animals will stay at the rescue’s kennel.
