West Columbia Riverwalk temporarily closed due to flooding

The rain over the past few days did cause some flooding in the Midlands. Tuesday morning, the City of West Columbia announced the West Columbia Riverwalk and Amphitheatre were temporarily closed due to flooding.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle travelling along Leesburg Road.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division says an Orangeburg County is being charged with attempted murder for a May 28, 2020 incident in which she hit two people with her vehicle.

Former Newberry County deputy charged with submitting false statements to receive unemployment benefits

According to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, a former deputy with the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office faces charges for submitting false statements in order to obtain unemployment benefits while he was working full time with the Sheriff’s Office.
