The Gamecocks shut out the No. 2 seed Commodores to reach Sunday's final against No. 1 seed Arkansas.

Lawson, who also earned All-SEC Freshman Team accolades from the coaches last March, posted 18 double-figure scoring games last season, and had eight games with five or more assists, while leading or sharing the team lead in scoring 12 times.

Benedict tops Clark Atlanta for first win of season

After a season full of almost and close calls, the Benedict College Tigers unleashed a season-high 214 yards rushing and defeated Clark Atlanta University 31-7 for their first victory of the season on Saturday afternoon at Charlie W. Johnson Stadium.
