CIU softball wins first ever game on campus Tuesday

For the first time in the history of the program the Columbia International University Softball team took to the field at home on their own field. This day has been a long time coming and a dream for a lot of people. Even though it was not the best of weather, the Rams brought the fireworks as they sweep the Bruins of Piedmont International by scores of 6-3 and 7-4.

Gamecocks host Ole Miss Tuesday night

South Carolina (13-12, 8-4 SEC) hosts (RV/RV) Ole Miss (18-7, 8-4 SEC) on Tuesday night at Colonial Life Arena. The meeting is the only between the two schools this SEC regular season. Tip time is set for 7 p.m. ET on the SEC Network with Tom Hart (play-by-play) and Dane Bradshaw (analyst) on the call.

SC State rallies to beat FAMU, 57-54

Janai Raynor-Powell shot 7 of 12 from the field and finished with 16 points, including the go-ahead jumper with 50 seconds left, to help South Carolina State beat Florida A&M 57-54 Monday night.

Drotar named SEC Player of the Week

For her efforts in the team's four games over the weekend, South Carolina softball's Cayla Drotar has been named SEC Player of the Week, the conference office announced today. Drotar posted a team-best 12 RBI at the plate and went 2-0 in the circle to help the Gamecocks sweep the Gamecock Invitational.

Drotar Ties School Record For RBI In Game As Gamecocks Beat Campbell

South Carolina softball used a four-home run performance with 15 hits to propel itself to a 16-7 win in five innings over Campbell on Saturday night at Carolina Stadium at Beckham Field. Cayla Drotar tied the school record for RBI in a game with eight as she blasted two home runs, including a grand slam, to help lift the Gamecocks to victory.

Furious Comeback Falls Short for Tigers in Narrow 56-55 Loss

Down by seven points with 17 seconds left in the game, Clemson University men’s basketball got consecutive threes from Marcquise Reed to cut the deficit to just one. Reed stole the subsequent inbounds pass but had the game-winning shot attempt blocked and Clemson fell to No. 16/20 Louisville by one, 56-55.
