Gov advises vaccine-reluctant to talk to doctors, friends

South Carolina’s governor said while getting the COVID-19 vaccine was the right decision for him, other people reluctant to get the shot need to talk to friends, pastors and doctors and decide if it is best for them. Gov. Henry McMaster’s comments Thursday came as statistics show both good news and bad news with the pandemic.

DHEC: At least 54 Delta variant cases confirmed in SC

Officials with DHEC announced they have confirmed at least 54 Delta variant cases in the state. Dr. Brannon Traxler says they are also aware of 542 breakthrough cases, meaning people who have been vaccinated are still testing positive for the virus.

3 GOP House members lose appeals over $500 mask fines

Three Republican U.S. House members have lost appeals challenging fines for not wearing face coverings on the House floor earlier this year. The U.S. House Ethics Committee released statements noting that U.S. Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Ralph Norman of South Carolina had failed in their appeals of $500 fines issued in May.
