Junior Wes Clarke of the University of South Carolina baseball team has been named the D1Baseball/AstroTurf National Player of the Week, the website announced this afternoon.

Clarke was a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs scored, three RBI and two walks in becoming the first Gamecock to hit three home runs in a game since Justin Smoak did the trick against USC Upstate in 2008.

The Gamecocks' four selections are more than any other program's signing class and account for four of the seven who have signed to play in the SEC next season.
