No sale: Santee Cooper's future is reform, not private owner

The South Carolina legislative leaders most ardent about selling state-owned utility Santee Cooper now say it's obvious there are no interested buyers. The House leaders signed off Tuesday on an overhaul proposal that leaves the utility publicly owned.

DHEC: 116 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, three additional deaths in SC

DHEC reports 116 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and three new deaths in South Carolina as of Saturday. DHEC did not report numbers on Monday due to the Memorial Day holiday. DHEC says they will will report the coronavirus data from Sunday and Monday on Wednesday, before returning to their normal reporting schedule on Thursday. 

Top South Carolina Democrat wants $1M vaccine lottery prize

One of South Carolina's top Democratic lawmakers wants the state to use some of its COVID-19 relief money to offer $1 million prizes to people who get vaccinated for the disease. House Minority Leader Todd Rutherford says the prizes would be similar to a program in Ohio.
