Zullo’s first-half tally leads Gamecocks to victory over Missouri

No. 8 South Carolina women's soccer (12-2-1, 6-1-1 SEC) defeated Missouri (5-9-2, 2-5-1 SEC) 1-0 on Thursday night at Stone Stadium thanks to sophomore Luciana Zullo's first goal of the season and junior Mikayla Krzeczowski's 34thcareer shutout, a new SEC career record. 

G League to offer $125,000 contracts to elite prospects

The G League will begin offering “select contracts” worth $125,000 next year to elite prospects who are not yet eligible for the NBA, a move that could slightly lessen the handful of one-and-done players at the college level.

Chris Silva named to Karl Malone Award preseason watch list

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced on Thursday the watch list for the Karl Malone Award, which honors the top power forward in college basketball.  South Carolina senior forward Chris Silva was selected to the 20-member list.  A national committee comprising top college basketball personnel determined the watch list.

Gamecocks picked by media to finish second in SEC

A panel of both SEC and national media members picked South Carolina to finish second in the 2019 Southeastern Conference women’s basketball standings. It marks the first time in five seasons that the Gamecocks have not topped the preseason media voting. The media also selected senior forward Alexis Jennings as a Preseason All-SEC selection.

Benedict blocks Clark Atlanta for 27-24 victory

The Benedict College Tigers blocked two field goals in the last 4:34 of the game, including the second one with just 45 seconds left, to hold on to a 27-24 victory over the Clark Atlanta Panthers on Saturday and spoil the Panthers' Homecoming at Panther Field.
