Dawn Staley Collects First World Cup Victory

South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley and recent graduate A’ja Wilson led the United States to an 87-67 win over Senegal in the opening round of group play in the 2018 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Tenerife, Spain, on Saturday afternoon. Wilson’s 15 points were the third most on the team as the Americans officially opened the Staley era with a 20-point victory.

No. 3 Clemson faces historically tough road test at Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech is paying homage to the 1990 NCAA Championship team Saturday by wearing the navy-blue jerseys that team sported during its title run. Chances are it will take more than that to keep the Yellow Jackets close against No. 3 Clemson on Saturday at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta.

Sam Staab and Mariana Speckmaier combined for the game-winning corner kick and goal to lead the Tigers to a thrilling 1-0 double-overtime victory over the previously undefeated and fourth-ranked Virginia Cavaliers on Thursday night at Historic Riggs Field.

Gamecock soccer blanks Wofford Wednesday night

South Carolina (2-4-0, 0-1-0 C-USA) blanked Wofford (1-5-0, 0-0- SoCon), 5-0, Wednesday night in non-conference action at Stone Stadium. All five goals by the Gamecocks were scored by different players.  

A'ja Wilson to represent U.S. at 2018 FIBA World Cup

South Carolina alumna A’ja Wilson (Class of 2018) is one of 12 players named to the USA Basketball Women’s World Cup Team today and will join Gamecock head coach Dawn Staley in representing the United States at the 2018 FIBA World Cup in Tenerife, Spain, Sept. 22-30.

USC board approves Williams-Brice Stadium upgrades

Following Board of Trustee approval, University of South Carolina Athletics is excited to announce that it will be pursuing state approval for $21 million in improvements to Williams-Brice Stadium with a target for completion before the 2020 season.

Krzeczowski Earns National Player of the Week Honor

South Carolina women's soccer junior Mikayla Krzeczowski has been named the United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week, the organization announced today. The award is the first national weekly recognition the Gamecocks have received since Oct. 17, 2016, when Kaleigh Kurtz earned the honor.
