Clemson Sets Football Game Events

Following the announcement last week of the 2014 football schedule, the Clemson athletic department, in conjunction with the alumni association, student affairs, IPTAY, the Tiger Letterwinners association and a host of other campus groups, announced the game designations for Clemson’s home schedule this fall.

Clemson Crushes VMI 80-50

Up four with just 11 minutes to play, Clemson outscored VMI 32-6 the rest of the way in an 80-50 win over the Keydets at Littlejohn Coliseum on Monday. The Tigers finished the non-conference portion of the regular season with a 9-3 record. VMI dropped to 6-6 with the loss.

Clemson Holds First Practice In Miami

Clemson held its first practice in Miami, FL on Monday in preparation for Friday night’s Discover Orange Bowl game against sixth-ranked Ohio State. The Tigers and Buckeyes are meeting for just the second time, the first time since the 1978 Gator Bowl.

Gossett 3rd Team Preseason All-American

Junior righthander Daniel Gossett (Lyman, SC) was named a preseason Louisville Slugger Third-Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball on Monday. Gossett was named a preseason third-team All-American by NCBWA earlier in December.

Clemson Baseball Ranked No. 21 In Preseason Poll

Clemson is ranked #21 in Collegiate Baseball’s 2014 preseason poll, released on Friday. Cal State Fullerton is atop the Collegiate Baseball poll, followed by #2 Mississippi State, #3 Louisiana State, #4 Oregon State, and #5 Florida State.

Gamecocks Fall To USC Upstate, 74-68

Holding a three-point lead at the half, South Carolina was unable to keep up with USC Upstate’s shooting from the field in the second half (48.1 percent) as the Gamecocks fell 74-68 today at Colonial Life Arena.

Five Gamecocks Make AP All-SEC Team

South Carolina's Jadeveon Clowney and Kelcy Quarles made the AP's All-SEC First Team, While Mike Davis, Victor Hampton and Sharrod Golightly made second team.

Gamecocks Climb In Polls

The University of South Carolina football team climbed two spots in the Associated Press poll to No. 11 and three spots in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll.
