Richland Library hosting COVID-19 Vaccine Tele-Town Hall Monday evening

The Richland County Library is hosting a COVID-19 Caccine Tele-Town Hall Monday night. From 6:30-7:30 p.m., South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control Assistant State Epidemiologist Dr. Jane Kelly will talk about the three vaccines now available, the safety and efficacy of each one, and she will also take questions from you about the vaccines.

Richland Two, Allen University announce community academic impact partnership

Richland School District Two and Allen University are partnering together to encourage STEM students in the Midlands. Thursday afternoon, Allen and District Two announced they have reached a memorandum of understanding. Based on the agreement, Allen will provide the district with speakers for special programs at Richland Two high schools, a "real science" summer lab experience, and a master class in the summer taught by Allen University faculty.

Prescribed burn at Fort Jackson today

Officials with Fort Jackson announced that they are conducting a prescribed burn of nearly 194 acres close to Leesburg Road, north of McCrady Training Center today. Officials say the burn began at about 10 a.m.

Benedict College announces partnership with ECPI for cybersecurity program

Benedict College graduates will soon have a leg up in protecting information online. Monday morning, Benedict College announced that, upon the completion of the bachelor of science in cybersecurity degree program requirements, Benedict graduates with a cumulativeย  GPA of 2.5 will be guaranteed admissions to ECPI and receive priority acceptance into the online master of science in cybersecurity program.
