Gamecocks rally to beat Vandy, 80-69 Monday night

No. 16/20 South Carolina women's basketball secured its seventh-straight win at home with an 80-69 win at Colonial Life Arena Monday night. The Gamecocks (14-5, 6-1 SEC) got 71 points from their starters and poured it on in the second half to record the double-digit victory.

Braves announce 2019 non-roster spring training invites

The Atlanta Braves today announced the club invited 20 non-roster players to major league spring training in 2019. The team extended invites to six pitchers and 14 position players, including four players (RHPIan Anderson, OF Cristian Pache, INF Austin Riley, OF Drew Waters) in MLB.com’s Top 100 Prospects.

Kemba Walker voted as starter for NBA All-Star Game

The NBA announced today that Charlotte Hornets guard Kemba Walker has been voted by fans, media and players as a starter for the Eastern Conference in the 2019 NBA All-Star Game, which will be held on Sunday, February 17, at Charlotte’s Spectrum Center.

Braves agree to terms with OF Nick Markakis

Pedro Lopez back as Fireflies manager in 2019

Fireflies fans can expect to see Pedro Lopez back in the Fireflies dugout this season as manager, but he will be only one of two familiar faces on Columbia’s coaching staff this season. 2019 will be Lopez’s second season managing the Fireflies and his 12th season with the New York Mets. In his first season in Columbia he led the team to a 64-70 record.
