Gamecocks picked by media to finish second in SEC

A panel of both SEC and national media members picked South Carolina to finish second in the 2019 Southeastern Conference women’s basketball standings. It marks the first time in five seasons that the Gamecocks have not topped the preseason media voting. The media also selected senior forward Alexis Jennings as a Preseason All-SEC selection.

No. 9 South Carolina women's soccer (11-2-1, 5-1-1 SEC) ended in a draw 0-0 for the first time this season against No. 12 Vanderbilt (13-1-1, 6-0-1 SEC) on Friday night. In the tie, junior goalkeeper Mikayla Krzeczowski tied the SEC record for career shutouts at 33. 

Dabo Swinney named to 2018 Dodd Trophy midseason watch list

Officials from the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Foundation and Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl released the midseason watch list for the 2018 Dodd Trophy. The list includes 17 of the nation’s top college football coaches representing six conferences and Notre Dame.

Michael Scarnecchia defends Jake Bentley's performances this season

This week, Will Muschamp announced Jake Bentley as the starter for this Saturday's game against No. 22 Texas A&M (if he's healthy after a knee sprain sidelined him against Missouri). Backup Michael Scarnecchia was brilliant in Carolina's 37-35 win, which caused a little more talk about a "quarterback competition".
