Become a hero for a Midlands girl living with Sanfilippo syndrome Saturday at the Super Eliza 5K!

Saturday, you have a chance to lace up your running shoes and be a super hero for a Midlands girl. Eliza O'Neill is a young girl living with Sanfilippo syndrome, a rare genetic metabolism disorder that can lead to problems in the brain and nervous system. Friday morning, the Sanfilippo Foundation, headed up by Eliza's dad, will hold a 5K Friday at 8 a.m. to raise money for treatment for Eliza and other children like her.

Columbia Housing outlines goals for the next five years

City leaders want to improve the the way housing can be seen in Columbia. Columbia's Housing Committee met Thursday via Zoom and outlined its plans for the coming year as well as the agency goals for the next five years. That includes the beautification of Columbia neighborhoods and projects to rebuild old or abandoned buildings.

Richland Library hosting COVID-19 Vaccine Tele-Town Hall Monday evening

The Richland County Library is hosting a COVID-19 Caccine Tele-Town Hall Monday night. From 6:30-7:30 p.m., South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control Assistant State Epidemiologist Dr. Jane Kelly will talk about the three vaccines now available, the safety and efficacy of each one, and she will also take questions from you about the vaccines.
